This piece is titled “Surrounded”; as in surrounded by peace. All images were captured at Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge. This place has been a godsend. Living in an overpopulated suburban area sometimes creates an anxiety in me that feels like a prison of sorts. But with this amazing place only fifteen minutes away, I am able to breathe and go on another day. I used intentional camera movement on the background image of fall tree and water to emulate the stiff breeze which was present that day. The butterfly on thistle was like an ice cream cone for the eyes and imagination. Delicious.
